§ other exceptional circumstances such as health of the student where sick leave or alternative enrolment is not appropriate
§ the child being prevented from attending school because of a direction under section
§ employment in the entertainment industry or participation in elite sporting events for short periods of time i.e. for one or two days
For exemptions for periods of time longer than 50 days please discuss the matter with the school principal.
When a parent applies for a Certificate of Exemption and the exemption is granted, school absences that occur over the exemption period are not recorded on your child's absentee records.
When the Exemption form is completed please return to the front office of the school.
The certificate will be forwarded to you once it has been signed by the school principal.
