All Year 10 students are to complete a Pre-Senior transition program called Passport. This program is designed to provide Year 10 with improved workplace skills and to reinforce the importance of assessment and organisation as they move towards Years 11 and 12.
The Passport Program has 3 major components:
1. Passport Assessment Tasks - all Year 10 students are required to complete a range of project-based, inquiry and research assessment tasks across all of their subjects. They will be required to complete a journal of how they prepared each task and a self-evaluation of their performance in each task.
2. Passport Portfolio - all Year 10 students are required to compile and collate evidence of school work from their studies this year. They must include at least TWO Passport Assessment Tasks, evidence of extra-curricular activities, a copy of their resume, their Half Yearly Report, and evidence of the completion of a range of school programs/activities. Students have a Checklist of the required elements of their Passport Portfolio (a copy can be found below).
3. Passport Interview - all Year 10 students will sit a formal interview during late Term4. This interview will be about their Passport Portfolio, assessment tasks, workplace skills, and their goals for the future. This interview is designed to reinforce the importance of preparation and organisation for not only Years 11 and 12 but their transition into post-school life.
