Learning Meetings

Learning meetings between students, parents/carers and staff are an important part of supporting each child’s educational journey. These meetings are scheduled following the release of Progress Reports at the end of Term 1 and are held early in Term 2, as well as again at the end of Term 3.

They provide a valuable opportunity for parents and carers to discuss their child’s progress in greater detail, ask questions, and work in partnership with teachers to plan the next steps in learning. While Progress Reports provide an overview, these conversations ensure that achievements, challenges and goals are clearly understood and supported.

Involvement in these meetings is vital to helping children achieve their best.

Mulwaree Matters

Mulwaree Matters  is published on this website and is emailed to parents/carers and students on a Sunday in preparation for the week ahead. The school newsletter is one of the most important ways we connect with families. It keeps you informed about upcoming events, celebrates student achievements, shares important notices, and highlights the many opportunities available at Mulwaree High School.

We presume all parents and carers read the newsletter, as it contains key information to support your child’s learning and engagement at school. By staying up to date, you will always know what is happening in the classroom, on the sports field, in the arts, and across our wider school community.

Reading the newsletter is a simple way to stay connected with your child’s school life and to ensure you don’t miss important dates, opportunities or celebrations. It is our shared commitment to communication and partnership, helping every student succeed.

Excursions

Faculties conduct excursions as an integral part of the curriculum. To be considered for participation, students must demonstrate behaviour in line with school expectations, and the right to attend may be reviewed by the Principal or Deputy Principal. All excursions are self-funded and refunds are generally not available. Where numbers are limited, places will be allocated in order of prompt payment and return of permission notes.

Parents are asked to ensure they are available to collect their child promptly if an excursion concludes after normal school hours.

School Houses

Students are placed into one of four houses for various competitions within the school. Each house has its own colour and animal emblem. The Houses are:

BANJORA         (red)       -       Koala

MARLOO         (yellow)  -        Kangaroo

PINYALI           (green)    -       Emu

TARMAROO    (blue)       -      Possum

Mulwaree High runs a competitive House competition.  Students compete in Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals and other smaller lunchtime competitions throughout the year.
